Comfrey Leaf Herbal Infusion
Scientific name: Symphytum officinale
Also known as knitbone, comfrey is a powerful tissue-healer and rebuilder through its cell profilerant properties. It’s also commonly used for its soothing, anti-inflammatory and hemostatic effects. Because of its content of pyrrolizidine alkaloids, there is much controversy concerning the internal use of comfrey. Do your due diligence, research and come to your own conclusion on this matter. Dr. Morse has used comfrey (both leaves and root) in the Heal-All Tea for decades (also with cases of damaged livers) without any negative feedback. Susun Weed, a well-known herbalist and author, has a long history of consuming comfrey leaf (of the symphytum uplandica x variety) as an infusion, and is a prominent voice for its safety.

Standard usage:
Drink a pint (16. oz./2 cups) per day (you can drink half a quart the first day, half a quart the following day – and repeat). This infusion should be consumed within 36 hours at most. Any mint (peppermint, spearmint, etc.) (1-2 pinches) can be added to the infusion to slightly curb the astringents and enhance flavor.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
None known.

- When it’s done, let it cool. Before it cools off completely, stir in a couple of tablespoons of Wildflower honey
- Once it’s completely cool, you can add up to 1 ounce of an alcohol (e.g. Brandy)
Store the mixture in a sealed jar or other container preferably made of glass.
